Providing impactful support for students has been at NSBE’s core since it was founded in 1974. Our members are a part of a collective that generates an academic excellence that has graduated tens of thousands of engineering graduates. Today’s engineering students have had more than their fair share of challenges. However, it has been that sense of community and family support that has enabled them to continue to press forward to success!
Dynamic Leadership
NSBE’s tiered leadership structure has cultivated an impressive legacy of leaders. Through hands-on activities, students learn to design, plan and manage complex events from the chapter level to the National Convention. This enables them to graduate with a heightened tool-set of negotiation, event planning, budget management, resource management, and program deployment skills that builds them into a versatile corporate citizen.

Beyond our general membership benefits, NSBE provides a number of opportunities in the areas of Academic Excellence, Technical Excellence, Professional Development, Leadership Development, Entrepreneurship, Community Service and Pre-college outreach. Our program activities advance the mission of the organization and support the preparation and matriculation of under-represented pre-college and collegiate students on to engineering degrees and into the technical workforce.
Community Engagement
Positively impacting the community is one of the most vital parts of NSBE’s Mission. Each year, our regions, chapters and members engage the community by implementing A Walk for Education, high school mentoring and tutoring programs, engineering competitions, science fairs and a myriad of other empowering programs.
